Title: Wheel spacers + bolts on mk4 golf
Post by: SM-25 on 26 November 2011, 18:12
New to this but need help so decided to make an account (glad i have now) ;)

I've just put FK coilovers on my mk4 golf and then 18'' rs8 alloys.. They look brilliant apart from the gap between the spring and the tyre which is 1-2mm :/ im worried about this rubbing when having a full car so decided to get wheel spacers.. But which size? And will i need to buy some longer bolts? Not really fussed if its flush or not but any help/advice is appreciated. Cheers :-)

shouldnt need to cut them down, just get the standard sized bolts but then add on the size of the spacer, cant remember what the standard bolt size is but im sure someone like wazzer will know.

my rear spacers are bolt on so I had to cut the bolts down to fit. They are 28mm long apparently so just add the width of your spacers to that to get the bolt size you need. 5mm or lower width spacers can be fitted without getting longer bolts

Id fit longer bolts with every spacer.
When I had 5mm fitted to my car the original bolts only went in 4 threads or about 5mm.

I would run 5mm on the front.
