the car is a mark 3 vw golf 1.4gl -1996 model.
the existing battery is either a 40Ah or 45Ah capacity.
would it be ok to fit a 70Ah battery which is coming from 2004 vw bora diesel car ?
also would the golf alternator be able to charge this higher spec battery?
-
Unless you really need the bigger battery I would stick with the standard size.
-
ok, but this is the key question is-"also would the golf alternator be able to charge this higher spec battery?"
-
Mines been running a HUGE T4 battery for months. Been spot on.
-
thanks,we fiited it into the golf this afternoon.
the alternator is a bosch one and the tag on it says 14v and 70a-so the 70 ah battery fitted straight in.
Car starts up fine,so should charge up fine.

Might be better to switch to a 90amp alternator.

a higher battery is fine, no need to change anything. just dont go lower!
