Title: cab lights on standard shape mk1....

whats involved putting the rear lights from a cab onto a normal mk1? is it just a straight swap??  :huh:

I'm pretty sure that they wont fit as they are different sizes I think.  :undecided: Have a look at some of the styling companies and see if they sell different ones for cabby's and tintops, if they do then they are deffo different sizes.  :smiley:

i think they will fit a small rear light mk 1 but not the bigger rear light mk 1 hope this helps

nope different sizes. the mk1s tintops are longer thinner lights...

It's only the later MK1 tintops that had the larger lights, the earlier ones do have the same cluster as the Cabrios.

The larger lights came in from 1981 onwards (and were actually closer to what the golf designer, Guigaro, always intended them to look like, fact fans!).

yeah mine is an 82 and has the longer lights, maybe you could fit the cab ones with a bit of fetterling and fill the holes left by the longer lights?? :huh: :tongue:
