Just for anyone interested and so I don't repeat the same poll can anyone who might be interested in getting this pipe please follow the link below. The more impetus we can get behind this the better the chance is they will consider making it.

They do water pipes but that part for a 1989 onwards. I've emailed them, the reply I got says they are not available and too look for a second hand one.

That sucks big time!
I'm sure we could make one out of copper bit of silver solider to make it water tight do able!
Have you got an old one handy?
I might give it a go LOL!

whats diffrent about that specific pipe compared to the ones avalible from other 16v's in vw;s and seats ?

I'm assuming the way they are routed around the oil filter and side of the block where specifically the temperature outlets are positioned differently, but saying that moding one that is slightly off by one outlet might be easier than trying to make one from scratch? :undecided:
-
I'm fairly sure any of the 16v pipes from a VAG car of that era would be OK. The difference in the pipes from the others can be the way they are routed around the engine and also the position of the inlet/outlets. Some of them are pointing in the wrong direction e.g. WUR and dizzy I think are in the way.
I have a second hand 027 121 06 K from the early valver but that has an extra outlet over the P. This would involve changing the outlet on the block to the early type yet I'd still be using an old pipe. It is the same dimensions (i.e. length and bends) for the K and the P.
I've heard a MK3 16v pipe will work but it goes over the oil filter, involves some bending and some of the other water pipes too. Not ideal.
If there is a good plumber, good at making pipes you might make a nice profit here.

Haaa I'm guessing it would take about an hour to make one if you had correct lengths then the Mapp gas and solider proberly comes to 36 odd euro which I'm sure the classic VW parts department should have and sell? Have you checked with them I know they do older stuff but you never know?
-
VW heritage contacted VW classic parts and they don't have any.
Here is a picture of the early type with the extra outlet circled.

Okay mate!
Can you cap it? If you send it to me via post I can cap it for you, but you do the postage costs mate!
You can pick up copper caps then silver solider it on or cut it right down then cap it?
-
Yeah pretty sure I can cap it off. But do I want to use a pipe which I can't guarantee the integrity of the inside. That pipe is my back up. Would be nice if I had brand spanking new one in preference.
-
ummm
looks like your best bet is buying the closest pipe to it you can then modifying it, if you just want an outlet removeing adding or ratating i chould chop one and tig it back up for you.
they chould be made from scratch but it would be a fiddel so may as well do them out of stainless but dought anyone would ever put the cash up for one
