Title: Help revs dropping realy low wen bass drops
Post by: ian007miles on 21 November 2011, 18:48
I need some help. I've just been out for a boom in my car and wen the bass drops my engine revs drop realy low as if it's going to stall but the voltage does not drop.  does any one no wot this could be. I've done the big 3, 190amp altanator, Bosch s4 batery under the bonet and 2 optima yellow top battery's in the back. And a stinger split charge. Sub is a hcca 15.2 and the amp is a hcca d5000. And I'm also using an Audiocontrol epicentre concert series. The car is a mk4 golf. Thanx ian

Well I would say you have some bad connections somewhere or your alternator is knackered.
But even then it still shouldnt happen!

190 amp alternator is going to keep the volts up,  but it's going to be drawing some serious shaft power it's capable of putting out nearly 2.8 KW add to that the losses it has in generationg the electricity, it'll takeing about 5 - 5.5 HP to spin it.

check your cars idel valve and throttelbody as it'll be needing a lot of idel air compared to normal
