As the title says really. I am wondering what the largest brake set-up is I can fit under either 14 or 15 inch wheels.
many thanks,
Jon
(edited to fix spooling mistake in title)

14" is 256mm
15" is 280mm
Although this depends upon the wheel and offset.
-
Also depends on the size of the dog
-
You can also get 270mm kit that will fit under 14" and 285mm for 15"

So is it possible to fit 4 pots under a 15 inch wheel with a 280mm disk then? There seem to be a plethrea of brembo calipers from various seats / peugeots / alfas with an 82mm mounting. This is the standard VW size, if I recall correctly, so should be, relativly, easy to fit.
I know that wheel offset etc plays a part but it's easy to change a wheel but better brakes, as I'm trying to prep for racing, are a must.
Many thanks,
Jon

you can get 305mm brembos under compomotive mo's iirc
-
I've got 288mm under the standard 15" GTI alloys.
It fits, just about.

the 305 brembos off the seats will go under some wheels ( not meany tho ) there are some 15's that you cant get over a 280mm setup.
the profile inside the wheel plays a massive part, if your after BIG anchors they dictate your wheel choice

I have 288's under a set of 15's on mine
