Hello all. Ive had my gti for about 4 weeks now, all seems fine, apart from a strange rattle when i turn the ignition on, it almost sounds more like scratching, which isnt the alternator or the starter motor as i have replaced both these parts myself. Has anyone heard of anything similar?
The scratching occurs just as the engine fires up, and stops after a second at most! :undecided:
Also the temperature needle is very 'up and down' but not exceeding 90. The heat is coming through the air con ok, has anyone had any similar troubles? Maybe thermostat?
Lastly i have the original bbs split rim, in terrible condition, does anyone know how effective acid refurb would be? or is sandblasting much better? obviously the acid refurb is cheeper...
