Title: walbro in tank fitting

Fitted my walbro 255 in tank pump today and just wanted some input to whether I did it so it will work properly.

Took the standard pump out and fitted the walbro and its wedged in right to the bottom in the swirl pot but its not a long as the standard pump and doesnt seal at the top(picture) like the standard one did. Does this matter?

looks fine, but did you block the hole in the bottom and drill a smaller one to the side?.. that is the key  :wink:

No I didnt, forgot all about your guide nice one mate. Mine seemed to have a clear plastic like cling film across the bottom. Will have to get it out and drill the hole to the side. Cheers

Took it out again but I think I have a different bottom with a smaller hole at the side so I think it should work fine with out drilling it.

NO!, unclip the mesh and you will see!!! the hole behind that mesh needs to be blocked and a hold drilled next to it.. there will be a tube coming from the back of the mesh, that needs to be cut off!

Going to try and fit my pump again with modding to the swirl pot.... Just still not convinced it won't fuel starve when cornering

what doesnt convince you?... try filling the pot with with water before you fit it to the car to see how slowly it emptys, that should be enough to convince you!  :wink:

mate, my tank was practically bone dry, i put a jerry can of fuel in and tested it in the lane, drove up the lane slammed on, reversed slammed on.. no problems.. not actually tested it on the road but i am sure it will work..

keep us informed guys ill be sorting it as per guide at the wkend but unfortunatly my car wont be ready for driving for wks yet so wont be able to test it out
