I'm in the middle of moving up from a mk3 to a mk4-
I've got a couple of turbos to look at but thought I would ask you guys if there is any thing I should be looking for in particular when viewing a mk 4?
-
Yeah, make sure its got a turbo cos I bought the non turbo model and was massively dissappointed. In fact, unless you plan on upgrading the suspension and getting a remap then keep the mk3!!
-
Make sure its a GT TDI
-
something else other than the mk4

~Indeed see if they have a MK5 for sale
-
So what your saying then is steer clear of a mk4?
-
no mate not all mk4s are dogs dinners just make sure you get a derv mate loads of torque an power and do stunning mpgs :afro:
-
A mate of mine has just bought a nice 02 130brake diesel - I had a go last night and must admit it has a nice bit of torque through gears 3 and 4 - very surprised!
-
i tell you what mate mine is the best golf i have had an i can easily see 52 mpg all the time long runs an shorts runs but still got power there if you want to go any where quick get a derv mate
-
nowt wrong with mk4 1.8t, bar the lil gremlins but thats part of the fun

Nope just get the best car for the money, 1.8t is a sound choice needs a remap to see the best out of it however.
