Title: Thank you to Craig from Carbon
Post by: irmscher on 18 November 2011, 00:40
Just wanted to send a personal thanks to Craig from Carbon this week..

Some of you may know we are heavily involved in the Honda diesel tuning scene as the Honda iCTDI range is one of our signature cars.  I personally also co-own and run the largest Accord community dedicated to the 2004 onwards Accord's (typeaccord.co.uk)

One of our members had his car tuned by us last year, and this week took it to Carbon for a dyno run (unbeknown to me).

Now truthfully speaking, I've lost faith in a lot of dyno operators recently as we've seen everything from dyno operators deliberately tailing off early on runs or increasing load on the rollers to manipulate figures and try and make it look like the remap is poor.. and then surprise surprise, offer the customer a 'better' remap for oh.. say £250   I'm also seeing so many tuners slating each other... instead of focussing on improving their own work, tuners seem to be trying to discredit everyone else.

Anyways I was genuinely heartened to see a plot being posted by this member on our forum showing a perfect dyno run and figure of 179bhp (we quote 180bhp on our standard Stage 1 for the Accord).  The member didn't tell me it was done on Carbon's rollers.. but Craig then wrote to me himself to let me know, and compliment us on our work.

This to me speaks volumes about the sort of bloke he is, and the sort of people Carbon are; Honest, sincere and confident enough in their own work to be able to compliment another tuner when they see good work.

Anyways, just wanted to share that with you as afterall all the crap I've seen on various forums between tuners recently, this really struck a chord with me.  I would have no hesitation in recommending Craig and Carbon to anyone.

Cheers mate

Fahad.

Here you go guys.  These cars are 138bhp/251lbft stock.  And this is our standard Stage 1.

We also offer a Stage 2 @ 192bhp/330lbft

And finally this year we introduced our EGR OFF mod which is a genuine unique to us (many tuners have tried and failed to close the EGR loop on the honda ictdi range).

Bear in mind it's a Honda diesel engine, they're engineered quite differently but all our maps are developed in this way for all our vehicle applications i.e. smooth linear and progressive power.
