35k on clock offered 18k :s  lost like 10k in just over 2years could of been worse I guess,
Do the maths on the rest:
-
I'm in Mansfield and got mine stolen in a similar manor, possibly the same folk!
i had a tracker and got it back unfortunately.
Did they peel the door handle off and crack the barrel?

Do the maths on the rest:
That's about right jd. This works out as £15k over 3 years. So on a £28k car with above average mileage, the retained value after 3 years works out as 46.43%. Unfortunately, mods never enter the equation too well. Dead money. At least you enjoyed them for 2 yrs and 35k miles. Can you not press for a bit more for these?
But it might still turn up.

Which exactly why leasing wins
33k over 2 years... £8.5k
p.s. hope you didnt accept their initial offer
-
Yeah I accepted, I went for cheapest insurance policy ( big mistake ) no courtesy car so it's costing £250 just to rent so by time I hagle it'll cost me £750 while I wait for 3week on an improved offer, I need the cash from that to dump Into this golf r

Sorry to here about this.
The scum involved should have a finger or two removed to remind them not to do it again.
Hope you get sorted soon.
-
Jd,
Havn't you got gap insurance ? A very cheap policy on a new car and gives you peace of mind

Anyway going back to the story now ive been payed out.
House in Worksop Nottinghamshire Broken into though a conservatory window, ( Small window ) Theifs have come in though the window and unlocked the conservatory door, for his mates most probs, Helped himself to my car keys, And televsion which was in conservatory (40inch samsung LED) - Remote and power cable included, Left my 46" LED samsung in the lounge. All cuboards been though but nothing else was stolen.
- Car was spotted by the police leaving my estate roughly 3am, With a black volvo estate following behind in convoy, Both drivers seen to be wearing hoods and gloves, Police tell me they attempted to stop both cars with other units. However obviously my golf failed to stop. Being as worksop police drive sh!t Ford focus estate or normal focus around. They got left for dead by my car and it vanished.
However they captured the twit in the volvo who's car obviously wasnt so quick. Found him equipped to rob gloves hats tools etc...
He was arrested however released on bail for conspiracy to rob or whatever the charge is, However lied like a rat and wouldn't admit to anything about my car.
Police confirm they bailed the prick whilst they search his phone records etc... for intel
7weeks later still no car. And im payed out now so ill never see it again. Or word from the police however the scum left nice downward facing finger prints on the conservatory glass they climbed though which they obviously had to go through head 1st. (no match on police records however.) And a nice size 9 Nike shocker footprint on Windowsill round edge of conservatory.

B*sta*rds.
Ideal position would be to catch one of them half in your window. I wouldn't get tired of smacking them about.
Were you in your bed at the time?
I would imagine that would be an absolutely horrible feeling when you come down the stairs to find someone has been in or to look out the window and see your car isn't there!!
I'm glad you've got the payout and can at least move on in terms of getting another car.
All the best.

Wonder if its the same gang that stole my White GTI from Doncaster.. Bast4rds.. Paid out after 5 weeks..

FCUK that! Take the car, it's insured, I'm not dying, going to prison or risking my family for one.

You should meet my son sometime, he freaks at the slightest noise at night, as do I. I can't remember when I last slept all night & I will happily batter any fcuker who puts me & my family through that again!

What utter khants these people are.
Hope you and your family get over this soon.
We got burgled a few years. We were out at the time. Horrible experience.
This was before we had a family fortuantly.
It was a nice house and area we lived in but we ended up moving as we never felt the same about the house after that.

Awful thing to happen, but do you reckon daddy battering a skag head an being locked up, leaving your boy an missus in a marked house is the best answer?
Don't get me wrong, I'd be f**king pissed if someone did it to me, but family ain't as replaceable as a car is it?
-
I take your point Random. I guess in the heat of the moment my instinct would be to safeguard the wife & kids, a car is a car after all. It's just the sheer sense if violation that makes me want to batter the fcuk'rs. I never took security that seriously but now I'm paranoid about it!

I caught 3 lads all hooded up breaking into my house in huddersfield at 3am in early December. Luckily i was in on my own and heard them before they could get in, a snapsafe euro lock and decent windows kept them at bay. I opened the bedroom window and yelled at them to go away!!!
Police said they were probably after the keys.
Cant believe how many posts on this there are. Car will have to go if they come back for another go. They just dont give a SH**.
