Title: need advice on brakes on my golf v5...

im thinking of changing my rear brakes pads and disk !! but someone told me that it needs disk/pads and shoes is that true that they have shoes fitted on the rear aswell!! or is it just pads and disks !!

and yes im getting them from our sponsor euro car parts  :wink: :wink:

Pads for disks, shoes for drums. You'll only have one or the other.

well mine has disks and pads ! i thought they was just trying it on grrrrrrrrrrr :angry: :angry:

so it cant have both as they said it need shoes for the handbrake !!

but i said its got disk/pads it dont need shoes thats why i thought id ak you guys first

It is discs / pads you need, handbrake is on the caliper.

He might getting mixed up with Vauxhall as they do use handbrake shoes on the rear discs.

The lastime I've seen shoes on a VW, was on my MK1 golf on the rears, even then I changed them for Audi items (Discs with pads) those woz good ole days! :laugh:
