Great Chance to give her loads of TLC - You may like the new one but you'll always come back to a MK2....
-
I ay got a garage or nothin 2 store it,
Gunna go up council 2morrow an see if they got anythin,,
Is it a big job 2 strip them all down an stuff,
-
No it's not - can strip one in 2 days... On a driveway!
Rebuilding is the hard part..
-
Mate thats a nice 16ver. Store her until you make the decisions, from my point of view it will never go down in price once fixed
-
Rebuilding is the hard part..
Yeah i reckon i could strip it real fast,
I would like 2 get it all clean in engine bay an stuff,
But just worried i would lose interest :embarassed:

That no one else can help you with!!
Depends on "how much" you want to do it!!
I really enjoyed doing mine & now have the wife's to work on...
-
Mines waiting for respray Atlas grey and I've spent over year doing small bits, but the issue is funds.
Otherwise I would finish it in a month.
I alright with taking my time as this is a personal car I'm rebuilding rather doing it as a project. I'll turn 40 by the time I get it finished, but happy I'm not putting miles on her aswell.
I've never lost interest just never enough funds to get it right!
-
Yeah its funds an time, Like ya said it ay all gotta be done in a weekend,
I just wanna get her in a garage over winter,
My sisters bloke runs a body shop so he will spray it all 4 me,
Just dont wanna start an it turns out i bit off more than i can chew
-
New engine and keep driving it.
Don't understand the issue.
-
I been drivin it fine 11 years mate,
I would like it 2 be just a summer car or something like that now,
But just worried if i do get new family car i might lose interest,,

But just worried if i do get new family car i might lose interest,,
Sell it then.
You've had it longer than many marriages last and it doesn't look as rotten as many birds do when you add on 10 years.
-
Nah trust me, i have a family car and a work car...... keep the Golf, you'll need it for when you want to actually drive
-
Keep it. You've had it for so long so you know it inside out and its foibles.
You'll regret getting rid of it and then have to spend time looking for another good MK2.
Better the Devil you know..
