Title: install cost.
Post by: jamrock on 14 November 2011, 16:03
not for a golf, but for a Merc C Class (W202)

how much would installing a head unit hooked up to an amp for the rear 6*9's be? (rough guess)

i have always installed my own ice but for the merc i wanna get done by pros.

i dont wanna get mugged off over the price. im not confident in tackling the merc but will give it a go if the cost is high

thanks

only way you will get realistic prices is by phoning/visiting a few places that do it

but if you say professionals...make sure they know the merc....if its not a well known place stay away and research and do it yourself....i'd also say don't bother amping the 6x9s and amp a small discreet sub as the headunit swap would probably be fine to power the standard speakers no?  surely the merc comes with at least a 8 speaker setup with crossovers as standard...the sub would take car of the range that the OEM gear couldnt handle.

thanks for the replies guys.

i got the stereo sorted for £50. The previous owner botched the wiring together, it was a real fire risk.

the rear 6*9's were amped and the front componets were conected. it as already in place just was not connected.

went to a shop local to me that is highly recommended, could not fault them.
