anyone know wot engine codes i need to look out for??
wot cars there in etc etc
will they just all bolt together etc etc
i wanna increase my 1.8 8v 90 gti to a 2.0l

mk3 2.0 8v codes are..2E   ADY   AGG   AKR   ATU   AWF  and   AWG.

from what i understand the engine code only changed because they kept changing the injection system. digifant,simos or bosch. the block is the same for all as far as i know. like gambit said, ask on the mk3 forum, someone there will know for sure. :wink:

i dont think it matters which block you get but which ever you get you will need the dizzy from the 2E engine to run with digifant. :wink:

i think it matters what age bottom end you use. if you use a later one that runs on a later form of fuel injection the dizzy is of a bigger size and of the wrong configuration so you will need the 2e dizzy. there may well be earlier engines that the pb engine dizzy will fit in to.
i am running an agg bottom end with pb head and a 2e dizzy and its great fun but i think i might need a new clutch now............

ps you might need to blank off some bottom end breather holes with either a blanking plate or some blanking plugs.
