Title: Any snowsport people out there willing to help with my uni project AGAIN!!
Post by: Sam on 12 November 2011, 14:48
Another boring questionaire but would muchoes apreciate it if you could fill it in
Please change 'ski' to whatever snowsport applies to you when asking yourself the questions

Your snowsport:

How often do you ski abroad?

Do you ski solo or in a group?

Do you tend to stick mainly to the piste or do you enjoy the off-piste experience?

If you go off-piste often, do you tend to stick near the slopes or are you more adventurous? Please elaborate if so.

How do you budget your spending money when on a ski holiday?

Does this have an impact on what you have for lunch and where you eat it?

Is eating hand-prepared food a more appealing prospect for you than eating in a restaurant? Why?

How important do you consider eating lunch when out skiing?

In the middle of a long days skiing do you like to have a good rest or are you always keen to get back on the slopes?

Do you, or anyone you’re with, carry a backpack, or any other excess equipment?

Do you have any of your own ski gear?

What brands do you tend to pick? If you rent do you have a preferred brand?

What do you think about Dyson as a brand?

Do you own any Dyson products?

Does the brand matter much to you when buying new products?

What would your reaction be if you were told Dyson were going to move into the Ski equipment market?

What sort of product areas do you think would be appropriate for Dyson to move into within this market? Would their style suit it?

How interested would you be in a food preparation aid designed by Dyson to help skiers such as yourself have a cheaper, more personal and relaxed lunch when up the mountain?

With regards to food preparation at the top of your mountain, what sort of foods do you think would be most appropriate for this situation?

Obviously this would be a portable product, would you find it much of a hindrance carrying something around in a backpack specifically for your lunch?

Cheers!

Your snowsport: Ski

Do you ski solo or in a group? Both

If you go off-piste often, do you tend to stick near the slopes or are you more adventurous? Please elaborate if so.  Will trek for good snow, sometimes even overnight

How do you budget your spending money when on a ski holiday? Super-stingey, spend what I earn out there (not much at all)

Does this have an impact on what you have for lunch and where you eat it? Yep, eat whatever I can blag for free, save money for beer

Is eating hand-prepared food a more appealing prospect for you than eating in a restaurant? Why? Yep, cheaper and saves time

How important do you consider eating lunch when out skiing? Gotta eat something, skiing makes me hungry!

In the middle of a long days skiing do you like to have a good rest or are you always keen to get back on the slopes? Depends on conditions

Do you, or anyone you’re with, carry a backpack, or any other excess equipment? Sometimes for shovels and beers

Do you have any of your own ski gear? Yep

What brands do you tend to pick? If you rent do you have a preferred brand? Any

What do you think about Dyson as a brand? Quality products, effective marketing

How interested would you be in a food preparation aid designed by Dyson to help skiers such as yourself have a cheaper, more personal and relaxed lunch when up the mountain? Would have to be the best thing since the Thermos flask to interest me I think

With regards to food preparation at the top of your mountain, what sort of foods do you think would be most appropriate for this situation?  Something hot and quick to prepare

Obviously this would be a portable product, would you find it much of a hindrance carrying something around in a backpack specifically for your lunch? Not if it's small and light enough

Cheers!

Another boring questionaire but would muchoes apreciate it if you could fill it in
Please change 'ski' to whatever snowsport applies to you when asking yourself the questions

Your snowsport:
ski
How often do you ski abroad?
as often as I can, once a year minimum
Do you ski solo or in a group?
both, I'm happy skiing in a group as well as on my own if they can't keep up
Do you tend to stick mainly to the piste or do you enjoy the off-piste experience?
mainly on the piste but depends on the resort / conditions
If you go off-piste often, do you tend to stick near the slopes or are you more adventurous? Please elaborate if so.
depends on the resort / snow
How do you budget your spending money when on a ski holiday?
money for food on the slopes and in the evening
Does this have an impact on what you have for lunch and where you eat it?
not really, this is normally based on when a good time for lunch is and where I am, e.g. if there's a handy place to stop then we'll stop there
Is eating hand-prepared food a more appealing prospect for you than eating in a restaurant? Why?
yes and no, taking your own food is good as you can eat where and when you want, but you can't beat something hot on the slopes
How important do you consider eating lunch when out skiing?
very, this is the same with any activity / sport
In the middle of a long days skiing do you like to have a good rest or are you always keen to get back on the slopes?
back on the slopes
Do you, or anyone you’re with, carry a backpack, or any other excess equipment?
Yes, I carry a backpack containing my camelbak, spare oakleys, micro fleece and provisions
Do you have any of your own ski gear?
everything except ski's
What brands do you tend to pick? If you rent do you have a preferred brand?
most of my gear is solomon, rental ski's I'm not too bothered about brand as long as they do the job.
What do you think about Dyson as a brand?
over priced, good but unreliable, well marketed
Do you own any Dyson products?
no
Does the brand matter much to you when buying new products?
function over brand
What would your reaction be if you were told Dyson were going to move into the Ski equipment market?
very surprised
What sort of product areas do you think would be appropriate for Dyson to move into within this market? Would their style suit it?
Tupperware style storage, maybe a portable ketle that boiled water at 100o
How interested would you be in a food preparation aid designed by Dyson to help skiers such as yourself have a cheaper, more personal and relaxed lunch when up the mountain?
depends what it was
With regards to food preparation at the top of your mountain, what sort of foods do you think would be most appropriate for this situation?
a packed lunch or dehydrated foods such as you use for camping, sports bars and fruit e.g. high in calories, portable with as little waste packaging
Obviously this would be a portable product, would you find it much of a hindrance carrying something around in a backpack specifically for your lunch?
if it's "portable" then by design it wouldn't be, so it depends on dysons definition of "portable"
Cheers!
