Title: VW extended warranty - any experience?
Post by: simonkit on 12 November 2011, 10:13

My MK5 GTI is just reaching 3yrs old and I've received a letter from VW about the extended warranty - the quote is £296 limited to 15,000 miles (fine for me) and includes roadside assistance.

Mine's a manual not a DSG so that's not to worry about and I had the aircon compressor replaced under warranty about 12months ago

Obviously it's a bit like doing the lottery - you might or you might not!!

What do people think?

cheers

Simon

I took out VW Extended Warrenty on my Mk5, only made the one claim (in the final year) which was more than the cost of the 3 years it covered, so worth it in my view.

Sounds fairly reasonable to me as if almost anything goes wrong it is going to cost more than £300 to repair at the main dealer.

I take it is a one year extended warranty limited to 15,000 miles not an extended warranty for the next 15,000 miles?
