7mm from new? come on these tyres are steep (Just measured ). I am sure my Bridgestones had 8-9mm.
-
That's about right for the Michelins, but they seem to last just as long as the others.
-
I hope so they were £20 more a tyre than the Bridgestones and they did 27K miles. Taking the plunge.
-
27K, that's good, I get about 12K out of a set of fronts
-
It was good, am hoping the mitchelns are better? but 2mm less already, they would have to be stunning.
-
I've often gone for Michelins when changing tyres, in the belief that they last longer. I'm sure they used to however, I put PS3s on my Vancouvers up front when I last changed, and I'm surprised that they now need changing again so quickly.
I need to dgd out the receipt to work out the mileage, but anecdotally (for now) I don't think they lasted any longer than the Potenza's that were originally fitted
They were quieter though, and great grip in the wet.

Oh dear, throwing money away again. DOH - sorry Bridgestone I will be back.

How can you get 27k miles from a front wheel drive car is beyond believe ?? Me out of all the cars I have had never achieved anything like that PS3's 12k, but they were good tyres expensive though. I did find there wasn't much feel through the steering with the Michy's . I found them good for the winter last year and never let me down.

I have no idea, i swear my old mk6 they were dead in like 12-15K am really impressed. I do drive 250-300 miles a week just going to work, and I tend to do that economically.

I'm not really into tyres like a lot of people in here who obsess about the things, but I have to agree having inherited two sets of PS3s now from other forum members that the tread on them is quite low from the factory.
-
I'm also staggared how someone can get 27k out of a set of fronts.
My Passat V6 TDI gets through front tyres at a very alarming rate. 8000 miles is good for a pair. I've tried all sorts of tyres and they all seem to last around the same, but the last 2 sets have been PS3's. I think they are worth the extra money for the low noise, comfort and all round ability over less brands.

I know I am really impressed 27K and they were just down on the 1.6mm bars. The insides were slightly worse for wear but they weren't illegal. No rotations at all the backs are still on 5mm so they must be good for 50k.
