Title: N75 Valve and tuning
Post by: Ant1981 on 09 November 2011, 16:25
I need to replace my N75, but which should I go for? There's the J version, the K version and a few others, which really would be good for after stage 1?

Depends on the Map, Carbon maps work better with the J version, other maps differ

If it was mapped for a standard valve, fit that. As Dom says if you want to go further with tuning it will be down to the mapper after that but you can't just throw anything in at the mo

Which can be seen clearly giving issue in the graph of a carbon map using the N75J below?

I hear they work much better when the owner plumbs them in the right way around

I spoke to R Tec and they said to use nothing other than what was meant for my car.

Which is what has already has already been said, my car is mapped for a J valve, unless your car is mapped specifically for J then stick with standard!

It would seem different people have different opinions no surprises there.

This is mine, talk to whoever remapped your car to get their advice on your N75 valves chaps.

Oh and if you change them yourselves please ensure they are plumbed in correctly

Your first post said depends on the map. I just said, R Tech told me use the one for the car, not the map. They told me the map makes no difference, they do not reccomend any other than what the car should have come with.

Just ordered one for mine today

mine was a F valve, nt got full part number here with me but the guy at audi checked the number of the one i have fitted at present, the very latest one for mine starts in a 06A and ends in E, my old one started in 05 and ended in F

It was revised July 2010 and is the very latest one, the end letter does not mean its the latest, notice the old one started in 05 and the new one starts in 06A

I just decedied to forget the J one and get the correct one for my particular engine and the latest revision.. only cost me £37 from the Dealer too..   and yes i did seek advice from Carbon.. cheers Nick
