Does anyone know if a MK2 speedo can be calibrated...
I had some silly red dials so i tought i would take them off in favour of the origionals so i got another dash, swapped all the pins over fitted it all back but now my speedo is miles out bout 10 mph or what have i done wrong??

there is two speedo drives for VW's. a red one & a white one
red one is for 120 & 160mph clocks
white for 140mph clocks
cost under a £1 from VAG and just snap on the gearbox end of the speedo cable

it seems to be the clocks that are at fault the ones in the car. Any ideas anyone?

the clocks cannot be calibrated. just change the speedo drive
-
had same sort off problem when I changed my clocks as my mfa was not working, after 3 clock changes the speedo now reads as it should
the clocks can be calibrated around £40.00 from a company calles speedy cables
http://www.speedycables.co.uk/
click FAQ's at bottom of page will give you info on recalibration
but as the others have said make sure you have the correct speedo drive in the gearbox
