Title: Rust on brake disc

 every time i wash my  :undecided: :undecided: :undecided: :undecided: :undecided:car or don't drive for a couple of days rust start showing on the brake disc. It does not effect the braking but is this normal???

i can't speak for everyone else in the forum but this happens to my discs as well, i just thought it must be the freshly exposed metal being susceptible to a bit of rust. like u it doesn't effect braking and disappears after a few steps on th the brake pedal. i wouldn't worry about a little surface rust, unless anyone else knows any different???

As far as I know this is normal as the disc steel is not protected in any way, it shouldnt be a problem and dissapears after a short drive

Snap for me, and the missus.  Every time i wash the cars the discs go rusty, go for a short blast and its all gone, but then the car is dirty so u have to start all over again :grin: :grin:

My car sits in my drive with no trees above it or anything, but somehow birds like to sh1t all over it every day, it got washed on monday and there is lots on it already  :angry:
