-
Had problem with uploading photo
Up now ^_^
-
Looks really smart dude sits at a perfect hight. Wheels really suit it too.
-
Tidy. Maybe a touch lower? Go on :D
-
Looks sweet ...but really needs to be lower
-
Looks nice mate and I like the wheels. They work well. Go abit lower tho and lose the bonnet bra. And it would be spot on.
-
looks tidy
lower the front another 20mm. back looks fine
-
Thanks for the comments guys
Well with it set as it is at the ride is honestly like sitting in a horse cart... theres no movemant at all and does scrape the arches when the steering wheel is turned
So kinda reluctant to go lower!!!
Allso when jacked up there alot of movemant up and down. think thats cus the adjusting rings are so low down. Is that normal though? Just never fitted coilys befor.. its fine with weight on.it though
-
Nice! Looks good mate, definitely lose the bra and go lower at the front if you can, or get a deep splitter. Maybe smoke out the indicators and blanks? Like it
-
Gorgeous mate, just not a fan of the lights but it's all personal taste ain't it? Bonnet bra is a bit much for a mk3 like...
-
Im in two minds about the bra myself. its just hiding some horendous stone chips
-
Looking very nice, with the exception of the bra. What are those wheels? They look really good.

The wheel will move up and down when the car is jacked up as the weight of the car isn't on the coils.
Or did you mean when the coilovers are jacked up?
Are you arches rolled?
-
Thought they would. just checking mine wasnt an aception to it as hadnt fitted coilys before :smug:
Was just bit worried about it cause of mot etc.
Arches arnt rolled, thinking of doing it thou
-
Ow and wheels are audi r6 reps i think with 205 40 17 tyres.

It's definitely worth doing it.
-
Bodyshop?
-
I did mine myself with a rubber Mallet and a heat gun.
-
Haha that sounds like my kind of fix!!!!! I like it!!! Cheers dude!!!
-
Only problem i see is the plastic arch trim.... :-(
-
Everyone seems to be obsessed with lowering nowadays, I think it looks nice how it is and you dont wanna go making it impractical. I'm guessing its not a show car so imo leave the ride height where it is :afro:
-
Nah not show car
Just a normal golf that i wanted to look semi unique
-
You can be low and still be practicle. Mine is very low and I use it everyday as the family and work car. It's the only car we have and I have 5 kids. You just learn where not to go lol.
The only problem I find is them stupid little speed ramps that you go over one wheel at a time.
-
Depends where you live I guess, I live in surrey/middlesex and there are a lot of speed bumps around here, also many car parks have those 1 way metal ramp things, I park in a multi-storey for work, and a lot of the time when out and about I have to park up a kerb. I'm only lowered 40mm and I manage to scrape my splitter a fair bit, any lower and I'd be buying a new one every week!
-
Cant go low where i live, just wont work lol

Saying that i think 40/60 looks good on rims like yours, but i would never do it as i hate a shocking ride in a daily car.
40mm all round on half decent coilovers is about right imo for looks and performance, this is with uprated rubbers and new mounts etc.
If you go low on old bits you will kill them in weeks and have a really bad ride and a few bills.
But whatever floats your boat its your money and your car, which is looking sweet by the way
-
Holy sh1t that right there is any lowered cars nightmare.
-
loose the bra and you got a bag of awesome there :)
-
The ride is honestly terrible as it is.... like riding a horse and cart!!!
-
I like it. I'm not a huge fan of those lights in general or bonnet bras. otherwise looks nice. doesn't have to be slammed to be low.
-
love them lights. Get em colour coded.
-
I used to have twins on mine but after 6 months or so decided I prefered the originals, looks more euro
depending on the look you're going for could also get pressed plates (dubmeister legal ones) and smoked indicator/fogs. dunno whats going on at the rear but vr6 smoked hellas looks nice
-
Very nice it looks well but its at a very similar height as mine and i got very bored very quick of the harsh ride im looking to get it back standard. But its all down to personal preference and purely on looks 10/10
-
Well i totaly agree..... does have its benifits thou!! Girlfriend was sitting next to me in the car earlier with a low cut top on... got a bit distracted
Shes not impressed with the new handling thou......
-
just noticed it doesn't have a vr splitter, getting one of them on will make the front look meaner. What coilovers have you got on there, budget ones?
-
Mid range
ill look into getting one!!!
-
the eurowagens splitter is a good quality one, mines lasted many bumps and scrapes, only killed one in a year but that was when I smashed it on a ramp I didnt realise was as steep as it was coming out of a car park going faster than I should of been
lots of the cheap ones are brittle and break quite easily
