Title: PS3 keeps restarting (YLOD symptons???)

Was playing battlefield then ps3 decided to restart itself. Been googling and looks like its early YLOD symtpons  :sad:

It is the original 60gb big ass one so not bad considering i got it when it first came out.

Looks like it may be time for a new slim (and NO not going to get an XBOX  :grin:) Times are tough though  :sad: Might have to sell alloys and anything else i can sell (body? :wink:)lol


p.s. This isnt an excuse for ps3 haters  :wink:

Mine did the same a couple of weeks ago...hit you tube, it shows you how to take it apart and clean the bits you need too. Did mine, took a couple of hours but been o.k. Try blowing in the back vents with a hair dryer for 15 mins, let it cool down and switch on.

I had this last year. Followed the YLOD fix from youtube and got it working again, but its no easy feat. It stopped working again 3wks later!

Luckily for me I buy lots of stuff from cost co so took it back (despite it being 4 years old) they gav me a full refund of over £400. I then bought a new 320gb slim for £220. win win  :cool:

However that one wouldnt turn off so I took that back and pocketed £220 and used my free £225 voucher to get a new one + a free dvd!!  :laugh:


Laptop is going back next week  :laugh: :laugh:

Stay away from Costco then  :grin:

Ye might just try the fix copy data on harddrive, delete all personal data etc then smash it up lol  :grin:

No way! I returned a friends 6year old sony tv (which was pretty crap by todays standard) and they gave him £1900 to go buy a new one  :laugh:

When I take my laptop back they will magic that into a new one also  :cool:
