Ok I'm slightly confused here, checking out my ignition coil today and noticed that,
The 2 red wires were conected to the - sign
And the 2 black wires were in the + terminal
Ok so I looked in the Haynes manual and it shows a picture of 2 wires in one block going to the - terminal and 2 separate wires going to the + .
Now my black wires are both separate and my red wires are together in one block
This does not seam correct to me
As I have always gone for red and positive and black as negative
Has a previous owner wires this wrong??

If they were incorrectly wired the car wouldn't work now would it.
Does your car work normally?
-
I've always had problems with the car and recent wouldn't start, just checking all possibilities. Having a google on this and seams it prob is correct but just seams strange blacks being + and reds being - on the coil
-
This is correct all black wires to do with ignition are live but I have no idea why.
-
Yes it confused me and the Haynes manual doesn't show wire colours so though I'd double check.
But does seam strange seeing as usually you think black as negative.
Another question the coil seams to work ok but is it possible for the coil to be on its way out? I do have problems starting my car ATM so was wondering if replacing my coil would help?

Those are right its an old car electrics things, some houses still have war time wires which are black or red that are positive instead of upto date coded items today in brown.

cool ok :) narrows out the coil then, god dam car pissing me off now

When you said the car wouldnt start does it turn over ok and does it start straight away when you jump start it down a hill.
