Title: TDI 170 Bluefin
Post by: mkviken on 03 November 2011, 12:44
does anyone know if 2009 VAG TDI 170 is bluefin compatible?

superchips aren't sure as some were locked but me and a friend are trying to get a group buy on some.

anyone with a TDI170 have any experience on this?

thanks

It's 50/50 on 2009 the only way to get a definative answer is to just try it and if it doesn't work send it back

thats what i was thinking. no one seems to know for sure so guess its just trial and error

i spoke to super chips who said the odds are in my favour for my gti as they have yet to see a locked mk6 but as for my mates leon fr its unknown

his was bought in picked up in early 2010 so probably an late 09 build.

spoke to both JKM and superchips and even with giving them the engine code they were unable to confirm if it would work or not on the leon fr. JKM were pretty adamant it wouldn't on a 2010> VAG diesel

so i bought just one unit for the GTI instead. missed the post so get it on monday

Did you consider REVO instead of Bluefin?

Cheers,

Jim

no cos they're £200 more and I've read the power curve is to aggressive so spins its power away more easily (stay calm redo drivers - just what I've read). super chips also modify the map if your not happy with it for the lifetime of the car

also i want to be able to revert back to standard when the car goes in for service etc and i can get a half price map on my next car if its compatible with the unit.

for me the bluefin was the only option that had all the features i want.

Yes, I too would love to hear what you think as I'm either going REVO or Bluefin in the next few weeks.

JKM tuning £405 reduced from £455

she wouldn't reduce the price for buying more than one unit as they're already cheap

my mate is going to get the remap done at a dealers as his car is not OBD port unlocked
