Title: Lowering plates
Post by: sychosis on 03 November 2011, 08:37
Hi guys

As you may already know I have pre 95 eibach springs on my 97 8v

Would these top plates be suitable, to give me that little bit extra low?

Cool, I'm just trying to find out now from the seller if they fit 80mm or 65mm to make sure they are the correct ones for me, he seems to think that they'll fit all springs

That is why the front is high then, VR springs are heavier duty due to the extra weight of a VR engine, they will not lower a 8v very much if anything tbh.

As Wayne says, you've probably jacked it up rather than lowered it haha

Yeah I knew this when I bought them, as we've had this convo before, about the vr weight, and the fact that the springs were the same for all the pre 95 gti/vr versions from eibach.

At least it looks a little more even to the back now, maybe next year when i've got the some spare cash I may invest in coilovers, or a proper spring set.

Vr is 100% different due to the extre engine weight.
