im thinking about buying some wheels that are 15' 7J ET13 and running them on the mk2, with about a 40mm drop. how much arch work would need to be done?
im a rookie when it comes to wheel fitments

I'll take a bit of a guess and say no work needed. I had 7j's at one point, cant remember the offset though, and had no issues with a 60mm drop. But its back on RA's and 40mm now....

It will need no work as long as the tyres aren't from a 4x4.

I've got 8x16s with a 35mm offset and a 80mm drop, minor arch work on the front none on the back and dosnt rub at all ever!

have you got the -40mm springs on now? if so go and measure how much room you have, you will prob need another 20-25mm outwards with those wheels assuming your wheels are standard. also will depend how stiff your springs are
