not sure if this is right but theres a yellow plug under the standard airbox which you need to unplug for something to do with the lights either that or the wires are somehow crossed with the sidelights maybe

Ah yeah! Forgot about that, it's the dip dim resistor! As Mike said take your airbox out & unplug the yellow plug, you may find that it's slipped down inside the wing a little but it's definitely there!

As these said.

Not sure what engine you have but providing you have the airbox on your wing on the left side in looking at the engine bay, whip the cover off, take off the pipe to make it easier then take off the two rubber rings holding the lower box in, take it out and somewhere will be a yellow plug. Disconnect it.

It just keeps a low volt feed to the headlights when the sidelights are on. It isn't needed or required and you won't miss anything by taking it out.

Unless you have projector headlights why fit hid,s? On normal lights they are just fcukinf annoying when driving towards them at night.
When ever I see hid,s driving towards me I always think hear come a corsa or something chavvy.

The fact they are projector is better as it projects rhe light into an area you can see that don't blond other drivers. But when fitted to normal headlights that are not projectors they are just annoying to other drivers and look chavvy.

There was a post up not that long about it. Unless you have projector headlights with with the ability to lower the beam from the inside, and headlight washers to clean them then it'll be a fail, and they'll be no way round it unless you have all of the requirements.

This link seems to say the are legal with the right light units etc. So if you have everything inc washers are they ok under the new mot?

Correct. They are going to be fine IF you have headlight washers and a self levelling mechanism installed. Which can either be on the light units or on the suspension.

Otherwise they are illegal. Halogen projectors are not good enough as they have different openings and cut off points. So you will need genuine Xenon units. Normal headlights are not good enough due to beam scatter when installed and glare to other road users.

Basically, if you are going to do it, then do it properly with everything included or don't bother at all.
