Title: Exhaust options......again
Post by: sprout99 on 01 November 2011, 08:17
Discrete but resonated or non resonated?

Has anyone fitted a scorpion cat back system?

I know milltek are very popular.

Thanks
Ian

non-resonated if you're going Milltek otherwise you'll never hear it

I had a Milltek decat and then had a Prospeed cat back fitted (they are a Cardiff exhaust place)

don't want loud anyway - had noted that TDi doesn't have centre box anyway.

Milltek non-res isn't loud until you're hammering it anyway

i was planning on cat back and discrete as i don't want o cut anni valance

or

scorpion and milltek are both made in Derby ...... :undecided: only difference is back box size

milltek is longer and narrow
scorpion short and fat.

I don't want loud - a bit more free revving i'm not expecting a massive difference

I had my Anni valence cut

Ideally it should be tucked up a little further but I was happy with it

I almost went discrete then thought if I'm paying £300 for some shiny metal I want to see at least some of it

i thought about anni petrol valance and exhaust but they rare and it's extra costs.

Buy the cheaper diesel valence and cut it like I did :afro:

So if i go Non res but keep cat in place it should not be mega loud?

CAT is the most restrictive part of the system so I'd get it replaced whilst its up in the air

Steve_PD has a complete Milltek turbo back system and its not loud until you boot it; you can't hear it cruising around

What kind of deal I'm after one of these!

£280 delivered to my work - do not waste money on the resonated one which is extra £50
sounds awesome - not too loud but nice burble

lovely bit of kit TBH

got a pipercross panel filter - mpg's are up by 10%

Will it be any faster if it's louder ???

and if not why would you want it louder

i hate loud exhausts. too old for that.
