Just got on the M1 earlier today when the Cat light came on?? I was just sat in the middle lane doing a little over 70(ish). Going into the dealers tomorrow and have a service booked in on Wednesday (done just under 34k miles). Fingers crossed... Any ideas??

Probably just a faulty sensor.
Sensors and electronics you got to love them...
-
Yep - see my breakdown thread - all to do with a sensor.

Got in the car to go down to the dealer & guess what..... The light went out. Damn those sensors :embarassed:

Update from the dealer... Need a new inlet manifold which IS covered by the warranty.
-
God Bless Warranties :smug:

Inlet manifold eek

Yep was covered by the warranty, thankfully  Black is back & running nice n smooth again
And they fixed the rattle in the passenger door!
However.... They still wouldn't turn off my DRL's, apparently it's the law (well it soon will be)!!

What happened to the inlet manifold then?

Good question! I'll ask the dealer & report back. Strangely my bosses 09 plate rocco's CAT light came on the same day. We checked our fuel receipts but we both filled up at different places. Spooky

Mine came on on my old MK5..... after I drove about for a week without the oil filler cap - in the winter with loads of rain (wondered why it sounded weird!). Thumbs up to local dealer at the time they had a mini chuckle, checked the car out, cleared the fault and even flushed out the oil then replaced with new together with a few filter - at no cost :)
