Title: Mk3 tdi Cabrio clutch problem
Post by: nick101 on 31 October 2011, 19:09
Hi there i have just converted a freinds mk3 Cabrio to run a 1.9TDi,  Got the car running fine the only problem i have is that the new clutch is slipping.  It has had a new 3 peace clutch kit and slave cyilinder fitted.  I have took the box back out and the clutch is fitted fine.  I am wondering if any one has come across or hered of this problem before.  I no there are not many tdi cabrios out there but has any one had a problem when fitting any other engines with hydrolic clutches?

In that case your looking at a fitment or adjustment issue.

Dunno if its different on a TDI, but I didnt use a clutch alignment tool when I fitted mine. Just used a feeler guage with the same amount of spacing in the 4 corners of it. Not had any problems, so dunno if it needs to be 100% perfect, or maybe I just got lucky.  :undecided:
