Title: OEM Brake pads and discs
Post by: Davstylee on 31 October 2011, 13:57
Hey guys

I have a 05 GTI and it is up for a service soon. Lucky for me and because of this wonderful forum I found Dan Taber who's garage is really close to where I live and he has been a great help recently when I had some questions and concerns. He will be performing the service and in doing so he will be replacing the brake pads and discs. I am hoping to purchase some Pagid discs and pads from Eurocar parts to take advantage of the 25% forum discount. However after putting in my reg I still get 3 options for the front pads, 4 options for the front discs and 3 options for the rear discs. Obviously as this is the brakes we are talking about I want to make sure I get the right ones. Can someone please tell me what ones I need to get. Below are the options Eurocar parts have given me and I have also included the link. Sorry it is so long winded but just want to make sure I get the right parts.

Sorry to add on to this already large thread, but Dan is happy for me to buy the whole lot of service parts and he will fit them all for me. (honestly if you live near Barnehurst train station in Kent check him out, top guy)

Anyway I need to get spark plugs, oil filter and oil. (hope I havent missed anything off) Could someone suggest what parts and oil (and how much I need) I should get please?

It's all good Dan Taber (the mechanic) is going to get the long life oil for me, as for the rest of the parts it was the most boring £271 I have ever spent, thanks to Euro Car Parts for their 25% discount I saved around £91 which aint bad at all.
