Hi guys and girls!
Was just wondering how difficult it is to remove the engine cover from the R32. I'm currently converting my Mk3 with the R32 lump and i would like the rocker cover showing :) Thanks!

Woah that will shift
-
just pull it off
-
I wish it would be as easy as just pulling it off. Looks like there are quite a few bolts holding it together?
-
You on about the plastic cover or the acutal rocker cover :undecided:
-
try taking the bolts off then
if your talking about the plastic cover im guessing its the same aas the covers on the gti and has one or two screws.
-
yep if same as 20v T cover just 1/4 turn on each screw and pop it off
-
It's not the rocker cover i want off. Just the plastic cover. Just looking at it though, it looks a pain In the ass. Looks like so many bolts. :undecided:

no offence but if you can't take the engine cover off... how in the name of jesus are you going to do an engine swap

My thoughts exactly!

Well the 4mo you just pull it off,I can't see it being much different
And +1 for the post about,
Good luck :lipsrsealed:

The engine is already in! But i noticed some nice resprays that people have done to there covers, so i would like to do it as well. But now the engine is in, it looks awkward to me.

I have the black surrounding cover off. Now i want to take off the rest of the cover. Seems like lots of bolts hold it in place.
-
try undoing the bolts then...
-
Id like to see some piccys of this project
-
I just thought someone on here would be able to give me proper instructions on what bolts to take out because there are a lot on there. Someone who's done it before maybe? :undecided:

The big silver thing u want to take off is the inlet manifold not the rocker cover,
I wouldn't bother
