Title: slight knock from rear? help please

Hi all...........newbie here

Golf mk4 gt tdi

When i stab the brakes i get  one knock from rear end.........if I repeatedly stab brakes I get a knock on relase of brake as well

It does not knock when going over bumps or round corners just on braking, if i brake very  gently i do not hear it

any help on what to look for would be greatly appreciated.

i have a knock at the back it turns out to be the cover on the rear shock which has unstuck itself from the rubber thing. have a look .hope this helps
