Title: new maf but still slow! ideas?

Fitted a new birch maf today hoping it would solve my problems (it is a bit better tbh) but my 1.8t agu is still lacking any poke, it does need a remap (xmas box off gf) but they can't b this slow standard surely!

have you got VAGCOM or no anyone that has, get the MAF logged on a 3rd gear run and itll give you an idea of what power it churnin out.  theres a few post knockin about on how to go about it

youde be supprised.

compared to mk 1.8n/a however it isnt :D

as said get it scaned. could be another fault with it

also ide look at a remap rather than a piggy back box, all the piggy back boxes do is just fool the ecu into putting in more fuel ect. were as a remap will properly adjust your ecu, have a browse in the remap secion

Lol, I've read on remap section nd r-etch seem the boys but its a fair track down there! Ill try and find someone local wi vagcom.

they do mobile maps too so come to your house or work i belive. also if you ask around im sure someone can recomend someone who can map your car well.

and yeah, also could buy a lead for vagcom and that should come with the light version if you ever need it, or get a scanner off ebay thats what i did, comes in use all the time :grin:

I had it scanned and nothing came up thats why I thought maf as that doesn't always show up. It is a bit better but nothing exciting but that cud b me expe!cting too much

As standard they are a bit dosile. There's probably nothing wrong with your car.

Been offered a Forge TIP for £70, are they worth the money? Any of you guys used Elite in Leeds for Remap?

If you have no fault codes shown then go for a remap.
