1st i'd de-badge it. 2nd lower it, 3rd 16's or 17's. Thats the plan for mine.

Bit OT but while we're talking about badges. Why does my Mk3 16v not have a 16v badge on the grille ? Or a Gti one for that matter ?

i'd say the mk3 is the hardest to style... not as square as the early mk1,2s and not as modern as the 4 and 5...

The way I went about it was to hunt around for mods that I wanted on my car.

Lowering before wheels is a must. Otherwise you drive around on stilts till you can afford it

Totally. mk3 's do seem harder to make look better, you need to be very subtle, less is more. It's really hard to find wheels that suit. Audi wheels seem to suit best. competitions,s3, rs4 or 5 stars.

I think there are some posts about 16v badges somewhere. some had them some didn't. they just clip onto the grill and are easy to remove so maybe yours was nicked at some point?

If i had a 16v or vr6 i'd debadge it and scare the sh!t out of the vrs posse.

audi TT rims or any audi RS rims, then worry about lowering then just subtle mods such as VR6 splitter, new lights?

hmm, 60mm drop some nice 16" alloys (probs some mk4 turbo gti alloys with correct profile tyres for your car), crystal clear fogs/indicators, mk4 style headlamps, clear side repeaters, and m3 style rear clusters, job done, and if you havent got a vr6 chin spoiler one of them as well,

well there the mods im hoping to do on a 3dr vr6, on the look out over the next couple of months for one to sit along side the mk4 gti........

was gonna go all jap on me second car, but after seeing all the vids of mk3's kicking ass i think a vr6 is me next toy...

got a black mk3 3 door too, dropped 40mil on 17s. They nicely fill the arches and look really smart.

You deffinately dont need to overdo a mk3. Keep it simple and close to standard for the biggest impact.

Keep us informed how its goin buddy
