Yeah James fly's really big LEI's... Hayling is a good place to start, as long as the wind is onshore, my advice would to get yourself a 2 to 3mtr Foil kite to learn the basics, so as not to waste the lessons starting from scratch, let me know who is doing the lessons, might be someone we know, and can put a good word in

haha yer, looked at gear and it's like £800!
I'll find out there name and let you know, have you been there before? It has a sandbank which creates a flat surface for 4 hours a day, don't know if thats good or not lol! Reason I want to do is because I love wake boarding but cant afford a 20k boat!

Never flown at Hayling before, but have visited many times, are you talking about the flying in Langstone Harbour? Hayling should be as good as pretty much anywhere, but I would guess that it could get a little turbulent, but nothing to worry about, best places for clean unbroken air, are the west coast of Cornwall, and up as far as Wales, for perfect onshore westerlies..
Avoid buying kit off ebay, buy only 2nd hand from trusted members of the kiting community, £800, may just get you started but realistically, you need to spend 2k upwards, as you would need 3 kites to suite different conditions... this may seem steep, but believe me, if you get the bug, you will move mountains to get decent kit!
Checkout http://forum.kitecrowd.com/ Flexifoils old Forum renamed, great place to introduce yourself, also checkout Aaron Hadlow, and Ruben Lenten on Youtube for inspiration!

My old man and brother have gone down there before. My bro is taking me down there next week to try and teach me! May which company is doing your bday gift for you?

Thanks for the advice thom Ill get on that forum  2k ! jesus lol I'll see how much I enjoy it first.
It's cbk mate http://cbk-haylingisland.com/conditions/ and the lagoon part I think is where they are on about that has flat water and says you can surf in directions :undecided: But that part shown you can only go if member of the club or the golf club.
When playing golf there it can be turbulent but quite often it seems to just be a constant wind blowing, guessing constant is much better.

I know who Chris is, but don't know him personally, seen him round some of the better events over the years, I'm sure you'll be in safe hands. The Club is exactly where I thought it would be, looks very safe, and facing the Westerlies... perfect!
Enjoy
