Title: 1.8 GTI MPG?

Hi all

I am after a relatively cheap run around for a daily. I have seen a couple of cars, one being a 1.6Gl, MK3 which i know will be pretty economical, but the other is a 1.8 GTI Mk2, being a 1.8 are they poor on fuel or do they return good MPG?
