Saw this at the local meet yesterday. Absolute minter, meticulously done, with a full respray in original Dragon Green, Heated leather that was immaculate with DVD screens in headrests etc. This is the only pic though which was taken from the SWDubs website. Will have a look for a few more. Oh and its a more door too!

seen it before, not keen on the styling, Angel eyes and debadged grill etc.. and also dont like the painted engine. would have rather seen a clean OEM look.. look at the brake resovoir bottle for example.. little things like this is how i roll

Colour is the best so shut it Len!

That fluid reservoir stands out also bonnet catch could be better, and I think the plastic screw clip in the lower screen cover thingy has been chewed up a bit.
looks better than mine though

and these are the bits you can see in a photo.. if i was up close i could point out a load more things that have been missed or left.. try do that with mine  yep i have a stupid OCD thing going on
don't like how the normal GTI coolant bottle has been used or the washer bottle, too much stuff on that side of the bay.. he should have at least used the R32 coolant bottle on the other side of the bay

mate it makes no odds which engine people choose, and nobody is disrespecting the engine..
point is, theirs no harm in making everything tidy thats in the bay while its all in bits..just makes it that bit better IMO
and I FOOKING HATE ANGEL EYE HEADLIGHTS
-
you would cry if you saw my engine bay then
Its not a show car though so why bother with making the engine look pretty, its an engine its supposed to be dirty

I am with you to a degree but it all depends on do you build a car to use or park up with the bonnet up :undecided:
You do have a point about the little details however.
-
Fair enough with regard to the bay, but bodywork and interior are absolutely mint. Looks like it had been entered in Show and Shine comps when it had the VR in it going by the pics. I understand where your coming from though Brad, but I suppose thats why yours came in so expensive in the end as the little bits (new mounts, reservoirs, bolts, etc etc) are things that add up which not everyone takes into account when doing a build of this magnitude.
-
Yeah those little bits do add up, but if your gonna do a job, may swell do it all. guess many people don't think like me
wayne, built my car to be driven every day rain, shine, snow.. i use it to go to all my DJ gigs, basically everything.. and its still kept minter than a new car.. and a lot cleaner than most if all i saw at the show and shine at VW festival.. and some of those are not driven daily

 I know yours is used :afro:
-
one of the many reasons i chose the engine i did is because it was built to be used, i do quite a fair bit of driving and the car lives outside (my swift lives in the garage) it has more power than you could ever believe, when you plant your foot it is just lethal.
All this and it is still about the same to run as my old 8v lump was surprisingly  should have converted it years ago TBH.
No point having these cars and locking them away for nobody to appreciate, everyone in the VW community likes to ridicule the MK3.. but mine and others out their (the one in this thread included) help show they can be a force to be reckoned with

I think that bay looks the nutz regardless of all the bits people have pointed out and its something a little different to a 1.8t so gets my thumbs up...

-
Oh my...
I so totally forgot that those parts aren't easy to replace..
The standard of the build is high. Styling is a personal choice.
-
Have u inspected it wherry ? Have u seen the wiring etc ? Non of us know how high the standard is.. Just saying
-
All seems a bit b!tchy to me  But there again, it shouldn't be aimed at a particular person.
-
I aint a fan of the styling, but I'm sure people won't like the style of mine.
But he does have a R32 lump up front
give him some respect.
