Title: Mk2 8v rolling road/ecu setup??
Post by: lew666 on 21 October 2011, 20:23
Hey all. Ive stuck a tsr engine in my golf that i brought off some chap. He used to run it on twin 45s in his mk1, ive stuck it in my mk2 with the original digifant fuel injection system. As expected it runs like a dog, engine is getting way too hot (exhaust mani glowing) and it needs the timing etc setting up properly. Im not very clued up with timing to be honest,

wondering if anyone has done this kind of thing and if i should get it set up on a rolling road? Any info and advice is welcome

Not done this exact setup but done many setups similar on carbs and TBs, which have had the manifold glowing red from the idle timing setup.  We find it common with stand alone base maps not as much with oe ecus,

If you can drop the car in to me I will take a look for you.
