Driving home today i suddenly thought, instead of trying to put a 4motion system on a Gti why not put the 1.8t engine in a 4motion?
So my questions are:
1) has anyone done this before? if they have how easy or difficult wa sit?
2) how much did it cost?
3) what did it do to your insurance cos technically your putting a group 14/16 engine in a group 17 car?
4) is it worthwhile, cos im thinking if you want 400bhp fwd aint gonna be good enough to get the power down.
Cheers for any info or suggestions

if you're going to buy a 4motion anyway.. just turbo/supercharge the 2.8 v6 lump already in it .. wayyyy cheaper than what you're suggesting, and for the money you're looking at spending you may aswell just get an R32

Just go for a audi 1.8t quattro or audi s3,alot cheaper.

Im only 20!!!!!!!! insurance is gonna be a killer anyways.
See my line of thinking was that it would actually be cheaper to put the engine an gear box in the 4motion than to do it the other way round, plus the insurance would be interesting cos your actually putting a smaller engine in the car.

either way mate with a modified car.. insurance is going to be megabucks.
