Here goes, another pointless bit of fun with no wrong or right answers as it is a very personal thing.
We all know what a standard car comes with (and if we don't go look it up on VW UK website) and most of us on here have either specced an option or made a modification that we particularly like and maybe we've got one that we don't really like. Or if like me you bought a second hand one what did it come with that you'd not have specced?
So, open to all mk6 Golf owners, what addition to your car over and above what it came with as a bog standard model from the VW price list is your best spent £££ $$$ €€€ and what extra or modification to your car could you happily live without?
My favourite: Has to be my Sprint Booster. I bought this to take out the dead bit of accelerator pedal travel on my previous mapped car so the boost didn't cut in too fiercely causing the dump valve to stuggle and make the car a bit jerky. Now running it on a standard car and it makes it so much more zippy. Expensive for what it is but it just works!
Least favourite: The leather. Would much rather have the cloth. Nothing against leather interiors (and I know a few people that ''can't live without it'') but the poor animals it came off would have appreciated the hide far more than I do.

Favourite: Bendy Xenons!!!!!
Happily Live Without: Nothing! maybe the wheels or the fancy blue colour.
-
Mine would have to be the Stage 2 tune, car pulls like a beast. Only downside is its given me the bug for more! So i've started saving for the stage 3 BT kit.
My least favorite is the free mod someone in the parking lot at work gave me; a nice dent on the bumper. (getting it fixed monday, thankfully.)
-
Favourite: Bendy Xenons!!!!!
Me too; love the xenons. First car I've had with them and now wouldn't want to be without them!
-
I love the xenons and the Bluetooth integration with the RNS 510. Both brilliant to have.
Not sure what I could live without. I guess the MDI has become a bit pointless when you have Bluetooth audio and the HD in the RNS.

Joe's hit the nail on the head for me
Love the RNS510 both in looks and function and tbh never use my iPod/midi connection now as the HDD and Bluetooth do it all.

Likes:
Equal firsts: ACC and my sound system and then everything else.
Dislike:
Only one: Halogens
Near perfect car. :smug:
-
DSG and my Sun roof, also park assist
-
Rear camera, although the steering wheel popped into my mind first.
If I re-specced I'd have a 'moonroof' as the spetics might say...
-
Like most... I love the Xenons and the way they make the car look. They function nicely too. :) DSG comes a close second.
18" lower profile tyres were a waste of money... oh, wait, I didn't spec them  I bought the ACC instead for my bumpy roads.
Maybe the colour MFD. Expensive for what it is, but it looks so cool
-
Love it: DSG I just couldn't do with changing gear ever again.
Followed by xenons and nav / phone
No thanks: ACC I never change it from standard and when I do I put it back to standard pretty quickly.
-
DSG - after six years, can't see me ever going back to old style manual.
Xenons - finish of the front of the car nicely, great round the winding country roads.
Rear Camera - great bit of tech and most admired by passengers.
LED rears - best looking rear lights out there.
-
The rear camera wins hands down!
Originally bought as a gimmick which seemed too good to miss at £150 - but turned out to be increadibly useful when trying to squeeze into tight places!
As above - passengers think it's amazing too. I'd need a third hand to count how many people have gone out to watch it 'pop out' after being in the car!!
-
1. Rear camera
2. Xenons
3. Dynaudio
4. ACC
5. Sunroof
Actually I love everything about the car it is pretty perfect in my eyes.

Autos have been around for a long, long time.
Longer than you or I for sure.

Got to be the steering wheel for me

Got to be the steering wheel for me
The steering wheels in the mk5 and mk6 are beautiful designs and definately one of the cars' best features along with the superbly comfortable seats.
-
my faves;
1 - monza shadows
2 - Audi S3/TTS short shifter arm
3 - DAB/Dynaudio/RCD510
4. red footwell lights
5 - GTI mats

my faces;

Is this a mod you did yourself? If so, how? Just replaced the standard yellow bulbs? I was thinking of doing likewise, give the car a warmer glow in the winter
-
I replaced mine with THESE (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110541877659#ht_824wt_155)
Nice effect, matches the rest of the red glow and the dimming function works unlike the LED ones
In fact I still have eight left, where else can you put them
-
Nice one!
Just ordered a set, now we'll have 16 spares between us
-
no need to change bulbs really.
i used red light lens repair tape from the auto factors. it only cost a few pence.
cut out and stick it on the lens and you get a nice red glow!
something like this

You could put a couple in an envelope and send them my way!

Fitted these to my GTD today. They were relatively easy to fit! Easily the most cost effective mod ever, they really should be red from the factory IMO!
