i think its quite quirky, but not something i would do myself. i like the look of like rat style ect but again, not something i would do or think i could pull off.

Any one got any pics of golfs that have had it done in places and do you need to laquer over it if its inside or out side

he was going to do the whole car (he had crashed it and replaced front end with pannels from scrappy in diff colour but couldnt afford a paint job)
then his insurance said he had to declare it as a paint job mod or something and he couldnt afford the insurance with that declared. i dont think he could afford to run it either so think the project got abandoned

It will need laquered if its to resist the elements somewhat and not just end up a soggy mess when it rains. Ive done some sticker bombing before. Not on my own car obviously

How does the laquer dry does it dry bumpy where the stickers have over lapped or does it level its self off if that makes sense  :undecided:

It would be cheaper to paint it than all those stickers

If you give it enough coats and then wet sand it a bit it should level off.

think that was 3 or 4 books, each book was about £5, and the whole rear end was done too, only part that wasnt done out of those books was the doors, roof and rear quaters. though could see him going through quite a bit of laquer.

Being a bit of a middle aged boring fart I can look at sticker bombed cars and just give a smile at the yoof culture thing as it reminds me of when I was a young 'un and it became fashionable to have 'splats' on the car.
The first time I came across sticker bombing was at a local VW meet when a few lads turned up in old rat lookers with what looked like wallpaper stuck all over their cars. I'm guessing this is an American thing that is creeping in over here?
It looks okay on mk2 Polos and old Jettas etc but you wouldn't want to do it to anything decent as just like with the splats, it will suddenly get to the point everyone and their dog has done it and it suddenly goes out of fashion - just imagine the headache of getting all that crap off your car when you're sick of it!!!

You can buy already done sheets of sticker bombed vinyl.I did my petrol flap a while ago now and it has been washed countless times and still looks new.

I like it, people say it's overdone now, but in reality (ie. outside of the forums) you still don't see it that often.

I think it sucks, generally. To me its just the typical polo/lupo "isn't my little car fun" thing to do.

then people like Fast car jumped on it... and I see it A LOT in 'real life' on all kinds of crap cars. Its the easy 'look at me' option, just like chalkboard bonnets, pedobear stickers and sh!t wheels painted pink.

The fact that you can buy books of the stuff from WHsmiths, or sheets of ready stickerbombed vinyl proves its already too popular!

another sh!t mod created by the 'dub scene'

the fact you can buy books and large sheets, its kinda cheating, its called 'stickerbombing', not posterbombing

its as bad as chrome number plate surrounds and m3 style wing mirrors
