Title: Pit bikes, who's got one?
Post by: Bellend on 18 October 2011, 18:10
Been given a Zongshen thing. 110cc.

Goes well, had to sort the brakes and a fuel hose. Fairings cracked so will get replacements, going to start painting it all up.

Seems to clunk into gear so don't think the clutch is fully disengauging. Seems to like wheelying up in second up my wet grass hill of a garden though.

Anyone put a different exhaust on one?

Ah cool.

This one will do me for now.

Removing loads of random matte black paint overspray. I think the previous owner took a can to the frame in situ haha. Polished up the exhaust, started without the exhaust and was popping flames which gave  me ideas it shouldn't.

Dislike the induction noise, is this cause of the cheapo cone filter on it? Or do they all sound like it?

Taken the rear swing arm off and will Hammerite it white I think.

I'd love to have one for the road, they seem like so much fun! Local bloke has one and I always seem him on it, he obviously commutes with it.

Dunno what happened really, just seemed to rev up. Might have been the brake cleaner I was using prior. Instead of trying to correct myself I just bailed and leant to the left rather then going straight through my fence at quite a bit of speed. Think I've bent the handlebars though.
