Two shows at Heaton Park on June 29th and 30th.
Press conference coverage all sounds incredibly positive.

Personally I'll wait and see if one of the IOW festivals book them. Still fooking cool though!
-
I'll stick with my album and 12"
Not convinced they live up to expectation,
-
Over rated & over hyped!
-
I'm definitely gonna be there!
-
Dont know whether to be happy or cruelly sinical about this :embarassed:. The synical side says they wont do any new material of any merit and they are just touring to make money (which is fine if they then spunk that on drugs and booze I may add, cant have the Mondays outdoing them in their continual slide towards drug fuelled decrepancy and death ) but the happy side says how much are the tickets, can they actually be any good live and do I really get to see the Roses playing live .
-
I hate to say this 'cos I love the Roses but
they sound a bit sh!t live!!
-

Secretly hope so lol .
-
love stone roses, i have a 12inch vynal framed on my lounge wall (ELEPHANT STONE) but got to admit, Ian brown cant sing live for toffee
Last went to see him 4 years ago a doncaster dome and walked out after about 45mins as it was that crap
They are a recording band, not a live band
-
I saw Brown live in 1999 at Sheffield Uni and again in 2006 at the MEN. First time he was awesome and one of the best gigs I have ever been to. Second time in Manchester was terrible - he had a street magician as the warm-up, but the microphones weren't working, so all a baying crowd of Mancs could see was a couple of tiny figures doing card tricks 0.5 miles away in the distance.
Will be on the phone at 09:30 on Friday morning when the tickets go on sale.
-
Cos they are fooking sh!te
-
The gig will be a bunch of old men in out of date baggy clothes !
-
I remember Ian Brown supporting the Stereophonics a couple of years back.
He was sh!t, we didn't like him, so he started having a go. For his troubles he got hit in the face by a bottle of water thrown by someone in the crowd    And then dragged off the stage by the bouncers
-
Yes where is the option saying no they are sh!t
-
Never was much into their music so don't really care much.
Am I the only person in the world who thinks Ian Brown always looks ill?
-
i was 3 when the first album was released, but i love it. think they are probably too old now and could be a disappointment..
-
Best bit of music news I've heard in, oooooooo, about 15 years.
To be honest, I hope most people think they will be sh1t and not bother wanting to go and see them and then I might have a chance of getting a ticket. Now where did I put my baggy clothes ?
After Reading in 1996 they have a lot of ghosts to exorcise and I actually think they'll be better than they used to be. Older, wiser and all that.
-
Who?
I read somewhere that some idiot thought this lot of talentless losers were better than Led Zeppelin!

IF they were any good they would still be together and making good music! I rest my case.
-
So by that theory The Beetles must have been rubbish because they split up. I'm talking before Lennon got shot obviously.
-
Well as they had produced what was it 12 Gold/Platinum albums by then and countless number one singles I dont see how you can compare SR with the Beatles!
Did SR have any No. 1's?

I wasn't comparing the two. I guess you missed my point entirely then.

No I ignored your point as pointless!

Ignorance is bliss eh ! :afro:

One of the comments from the press conference in response to the question 'why now?' was that they thought people could do with being uplifted at the moment.
Amen to that. Whether you like them or not, their music is full of gusto.
If you're not fully familar with their stuff, here's probably their single most epic track - I am the Ressurection:

Oh and not-remotely-classic-at-all Fools Gold:
http://youtu.be/NSD11dnphg0
In fact, looking through the listings on Youtube - they didn't need heaps of hits, because those they did have were so f*cking good you would have struggled to deliver many more of that quality.
If they can compare to The Who live then I'll be impressed.

This has to go down as my favourite song of all time.
-
A good thing in my eyes, never got to see them live the last time round so will be trying my hardest to get there this time
Waterfall or She Bangs The Drums for me

Ticketmaster says:

What a surprise!
-
I had to sat tickets on ticket master, as my mate reallty wants to go. He had a band back in the day at the same time as these guys but he even said 65.50 a ticket is pricey! so leave it for now!
My g/f dad was also a member of inspiral carpets so I can prob get tickets through him
-
Stone Roses! Uplifting!? WTF
-
I've been sat on gigsandtours, ticketmaster, ticketline & seetickets. Got as far as putting in cc details on ticketmaster and then, CRASH! Who actually gets through because these sites just cannot take the volume ?
I'm now seeing a date of Sunday July 1st on some of the sites.
To all those people who have already put their tickets on ebay, thanks. :afro:
-
No idea who they are. People seem excited though, will give them a listen.
-
People seem excited though

Not bad going for an hour and halfs work. T0ssers.

Fastest selling gig in UK history so it was always going to be a lottery who got through. I tried the phone lines and couldn't get through but amazingly the Gigs and Tours app I installed to my iPhone last night worked. Four tickets for the Friday night gig in the bag, and yes, I'm probably going to flog two of them on eBay to pay for the other two and travel + accommodation.

I let mine go on ticket master due to the fact i didnt want to re-sell them on for xxx amounts.
Im a strong believer that doing so isnt right! I know people will always do so but just my views.

Fair enough. In the old days before the internet I've been ripped off by touts, but also sold extra tickets outside gigs when mates haven't turned up or paid for ones I've bought on their behalf. Swings and roundabouts really, but I can see why people are pissed off when before the gig has even sold out tickets are appearing on eBay for 5 times the face value. I'm going to wait until next year to sell them on, so I might not make the crazy prices people are getting today, particularly if they keep confirming additional dates for next summer's festival circuit etc.
-
Check out the price of these. Someone must be just putting bids in to p1ss off the tout.

EDIT: Deffo a wind up a it was at £7,600 when I first posted. Good work.

Sell them now mate as you'll get a lot more for them. If you want to sell them further down the line give me a shout. I'm in Huddersfield but work in Leeds.

You could have been the bigger man and sold them to me for face value.
