Title: Ball bearing Mk2 16v?? How and what tools?

Hi guys,

another one of thoses questions! how easy is it to fit a ball bearing (front right)? do i need any type of special tool and has anyone got a thread on a how to?

whats a ball bearing?  :wink: you mean wheel bearing? if you don´t know what its called i suggest you dont do it. It is diffeicult without a wheel bearing press.  :smiley:

best bet if you can manage ..remove the front hub and take it to a garage and pay them a drink to press it in with thier hydraulic press

haha yeah wheel bearing ball bearing same thing :p

yeah i thought it maybe a little more difficult than expected..anyone had it done and how much does it cost?

take the hub off the car, get the old bearing out and take it into a garage, i did. cost me £10

yeah tenner seems to be the going rate , id suggest you only buy a good quality bearing like SKF /FAG or one from the dealer , cheapo brands dont last long and you will be doing it again
