Well, when you're rallying you have to do it in one take!.... :lipsrsealed:
-
He's great at stunts, but in a rally Loeb creams over him in any surface. Mind you Loeb creams a lot of people in any surface.

As the grand master Keiichi Tsuchiya said
"I drift not because it is a quicker way around a corner but the most exciting way."
-
Yeh he def has skills though good to watch!
-
Yeah he's pretty awesome!
-
its the car i love, awsome machine.
and that bit on the wet skid pan is pretty smart!
-
He is good, but running out of ideas me thinks.

There was a story in Evo magazine (I think it was Evo anyway) about a show he did at Battersy power station alongside his fellow Ford driver (forget the name). Apparently Block struggled with his WRC car to get it drifting and get around the course they had, practicing for ages and looking pretty bad. His fellow Ford rally driver on the other hand rocked up, slung it sideways and made a pretty good show of it with bugger all practice.
Block is only in WRC because he can afford it and the publicity of his name (and Gymkhana vids for those of us who cant stand stupidly sized caps) that gives the right image that Ford want, not for his (lack of) driving talent. Fair do's hes probably an alright driver and would show me the way around a race track all day and night but he just isnt world class :embarassed:.
-
pretty sick of seeing this chump now,
give me a haldex controller and ill do it in my 4mo
-
How about this?

Who cares if hes not the best driver in Rallying, hes no longer a person, hes a label.. And it works.. People love him, they thrive off him.. Lets not forget he was a co-founder of DC shoes also.. This guy is no mug, he enjoys himself and lives life to the full...
I love his videos and I love Rob Dydrek.. They live life how it should be!!

That is fully the best thing I've seen today.
Many thanks for making I laff.
Ken Block - over-hype-central.
-
on the first turn as he comes onto the track, he hits the wall
gymkana 4 is good

Wow. He's got to be one of the best in the world when to comes to this sort of stuff. Shame in he's not great when it comes to real world driving aKa WRC.
-
like real life gta
-
PURE AWESOMENESSSS
-
heh - beat me to the post of this.
How to sell shoes: make videos of a chubby American going sideways in a car in novel locations.
Genius.
-
Once you have seen the first you have seen them all. I'll watch it when I am about to chew my face off due to chronic boredom. For now I'll see how many times I can paper my eyeballs before they bleed.

He's had a few top 10 finishes in the wrc
-
anyone else find them a bore now, seen it all before. meh. only part that made me think oo and rewound it was the cool sideways air he got.

Ok, but that doesn't make him as amazing as people think he is.

2 over ten races is it?, and iirc he was only just in the top ten i.e 9th/10th or somethingWow. He's got to be one of the best in the world when to comes to this sort of stuff. Shame in he's not great when it comes to real world driving aKa WRC.

+1 needs to stop dicking around with the handbrake wearing DC's and focus more on WRC.
however i suppose hes going to be getting a good wage for doing it and proberbly having fun so i can see why he does them.
-
Don't think he gets paid to do it, he owns DC so I think it's more about promotion more than anything. He might get paid by other sponsors for it though.
-
I bet most of the other driver like world champ Loeb could do the same?
Its all cut and takes not one continuous piece so..
-

ahh does he, never knew he owned it, thought he was just sponsored or a big share holder type thing :D suppose the promotions might bring in more money for him though...
-
He normally bores me, but this is his best yet! I guess the residents of Lombard Street said a big NO to him passing their windows sideways, and would have been great if he could have got across the Golden Gate Bridge... but hey
Shades of Bullitt

Epic. Right up until the song, when I could think of was Eric Cartman.
God that's gonna stick in my head all day!

Different styles different types of driving. Put Kimi in a Gymkhana track and he'll go half the speed knocking down most of the bollards/walls. Put Ken Block on a circuit and Kimi will run rings around him. Both a great drivers but they just have different styles of driving and different strengths and weaknesses.
-
A bit like when Sebastien Loeb raced in a GP2 race and came 25th out of 25
-
and then we got keyboard drivers :lipsrsealed:
-
gran turismo has a lot to answer for
-
Gymkana 5 for those interested
Pretty sick skills if you ask me.

Bang on mate, for this type of driving Block is the daddy. I found this clip very entertaining even if many if you didn't.
-
to be fair to him he's not a paid professional driver, he makes shoes for a living
-

a quality shoe at that
-
He's basically the Danny Mcaskill of driving...no good at competitive sport but massively gifted in messing around in a manor we all wish we could.
-
Mcaskill = Legend
-
Pah to Block, anybody can do what he does with practice, its what happens on the stages that counts and I wouldnt class him on the same continent as most rally drivers.
As for his machine, that aint no machine, these are machines:

Well, the first one was until it killed him when he hit a wall hard . Still, they did build 2 shells and his previous judd engined e36 BMW still exists.......
