After going to gti festival yesterday I have decided I want some new wheels but all the ones I want are 4 stud. Has anybody on here ever used an adaptor to go from 5 stud to 4?
I no you can get one the other way round but not sure if it's safe to go the other way.
-
They would be safe, providing they were done properly. You would have to get them custom made i think as i haven't been able to find any and i know a lot of other members haven't either.
-
I believe Venom and Awesome do them.
But really not a good idea!

Convert your car to 4 stud, easier and safer.
Nobody makes adaptors to convert 5x100 to 4x100 so they will need custom making.
I spent ages looking for them.

I also spent ages looking for some without any luck. Convert to 4 stud.

What is involved in that? Don't have to change hole rear beam like you do on some cars do you?
-
I believe if you convert to 4 stud the biggest discs you can fit are 280mm, so that would be the end of your 1.8t dream :undecided:
-
some Seat cupra brakes are 305mm

do the hubs fit on a mk3 though?

What is involved in the swap anyway?

only way is to use cabrio/estate 4 stud hubs (I'm sure you need to change the brakes set up with calipers and the largest 4 stud are 280mm)

Not really, 280mm set up on good quality discs and pads will be fine.
Standard on a mk4 1.8t is 288mm only the Anni's (180bhp) got the 312mm set up.
