Really sad and so young.. Goes to show even modern day health and safety with fantastic roll cages you can still sustain fatal injuries..

Get in a car and turn left thousands of times at +200mph with 30 other cars and eventually something will go horribly wrong.

Still, if I was offered $2m for winning one race I'd probably be there like a shot, even with the relatively small chance of a fiery death.

Sh*t happens.  A well-paid bloke has died. This is unfortunate, but an occupational hazard for racing drivers.

It's very sad and makes for uncomfortable viewing. However I am with DH: every racing driver knows the risks when they take to the track. Only a few years ago this was a more regular occurrence. 220mph + no run off area generally = wall.

Anyone seen the Daily Mail?

Leading with the story on their website and as usual, talking complete utter sh!t. I hate that paper.

Basically saying why was he offered $5 million to win the race...saying this was revealed today??!! Was it? I knew about this for a long time.

Then it says he pushed himself to hard to get the win?! f**k off DM..did you see the crash? It had nothing to do with him and was unavoidable.

What a video! Amazed only the one driver died  :shocked:. Didnt know of his work but sad to see any Brit driver carp it.
