Does anyone have or know if these brakes would fit onto my Golf 1.8 8v 90 reg GTI? I have 17s.
Ibiza/G60 Red calipers
All Fixings/Mounts
Stainless Steel/Braided Brake Hoses (Badger 5 Supplied)
Pagid Grooved Discs (280ml)
Pagid fast Road Pads

sounds like you have everything you need there to do the usual g60 280mm disc upgrade :)
if you got it as a kit from Bill Brockbank then he would be able to offer fitment advice.

for a 280 conv
u need 280 discs (which you've got)
280mm caliper carriers (which i presume is included in the fixings/mounts)
plus the calipers for either the 256mm or 280mm
239mm calipers will not work i dont think

Has anybody actually done this conversion as i have heard that there might be problems. Dont know what, but a mate had this set up on this MK1 and told me he tried to sell it to someone with a Mk 2, but it just wouldnt go on.
Anybody 100%

So if i want to have these brakes fitted on my mk2 8v
Ive got get a whole new Hub system and ball joint either off a late 16vGTI or a Passat.
Looks like a trip to the brakers this weekend.

no if your 8v is a late spec then you just need caliper carriers and 16v calipers
pre 89 cars had the carriers as part of the hub, this is not the case with late spec mk2's
